Don’t Sacrifice Professionalism for Flame Resistance

Posted by myadmin on 21st July 2009

mensShirtIf you have a job that takes you close to high heat or open flame, you need flame resistant clothing or fire retardant clothing to keep you safe. However, you still have a job to do. Even if your job is dangerous, you need to put forward a professional image and you need work clothes that help you get the job done right.

DRIFIRE understands this. That’s we create premium flame retardant apparel that keeps you safer. We don’t just coat out clothes with fire-resistant chemicals. Our flame resistant (FR) clothing is flame resistant right down to the fiber because we start with materials that are inherently flame resistant and flame retardant. Our FR apparel is made from modacrylic, a synthetic fiber (flame resistant fabrics) that is safe and has been in use since the 1940s. Modacrylic is not only hard to set on fire, but it actually has fire extinguishing properties. This means our garments made from modacrylic will not drip, fuse to your skin, or burn. Unlike FR clothing simply dipped in fire-retardant chemicals, DRIFIRE FR clothes will stay flame resistant. The flame resistant properties can’t be laundered away in the wash.

Since DRIFIE FR clothing is made from modacrylic, we can make clothing that is relatively professional-looking and helps you work at your best. Since our fire resistant clothing is made from modacrylic and is inherently flame resistant, we don’t have to coat our clothes with thick protective layers. Wearing our FR clothes is like wearing regular work clothes – light and comfortable. DRIFIRE FR clothes are comfortable and light and even have moisture-wicking properties to keep you dry and comfortable on the job. You don’t want to be meeting clients in a rubber suit, do you? With DRIFIRE flame resistant clothes, you can put forward a professional image.

Our flexible flame resistant uniforms and clothes can also be sewn just like any other clothing. We can create the styles of clothes your company needs to project the image you want. Our clothes don’t wrinkle easily, thanks to the synthetic fiber, and wash easily in a washing machine with no extra fuss. Why wear FR clothes that make you sweat and make you feel as though you’re wearing a heavy space suit? DRIFIRE FR clothes keep you cool and dry and also keep you looking great while they keep you safe on the job. Even the military and firefighting authorities use our clothing to keep those on the front lines feeling and looking professional as they save lives.

Mountain Biking Winter Gear

Posted by myadmin on 9th July 2009

10612Mountain biking in cold weather has always been a challenge. The problem is that you’ll start out cold then warm up and break a sweat, making yourself wet. Then, when you travel downhill, the combination of wet skin and windchill will be quite chilling.

Below, you’ll find a list of the cold weather clothing that will make winter riding less of a bone chilling experience.

Booties
In cold temperatures, your feet are the most vulnerable part of your anatomy. Pressure from pedaling will
tend to cut off the circulation to your toes, which can put you at a risk of frostbite. In cold conditions,
neoprene booties are a must have. They will zip over your shoes and even have a pattern in the sole where
you can cut out a piece for cleats.

Gloves
There are several manufacturers that make “lobster gloves”, a hybrid glove that separates your index finger and thumb from the rest of your hand. These gloves are warmer than regular gloves, and the distinct index finger will allow you to operate your shifting and brake levers.

In case your hands get cold, you should carry a pair of lightweight glove liners will you as well. If you have to stop to take care of a problem, the liners will protect your hands from the cold.

Glasses
Glasses that wraparound and provide maximum protection from the wind are best to wear in the winter. You can
protect yourself from debris, as well as the cold.

Socks
You should wear heavy socks although not to heavy. A sock that is overly heavy will make your shoes tight,
cut off circulation, even make your feet cold. You should try lightweight socks, as they will keep your
feet warm without bulk. If you need an extra layer, try silk ski socks as they are very warm and also
extra lightweight.

Underwear
Polypropylene is the best material here, as it is lightweight and best for colder temperatures.

Wind protection
Moving air is the biggest cause for losing body heat. By having good wind protection you’ll be able
to vent perspiration while also protecting yourself from windchill. You should choose pants and a jacket
based on durability, breathing, and price as these types of clothing can get very experience.

Helmet and liners
Your head is very important, as you lose 50% of your body heat through your head. A helmet is designed to
keep you cool in the summer, not warm in the winter. A fleece liner inside your helmet will keep your head
and ears warm during winter riding.

Sevilla sign Zokora

Posted by myadmin on 9th July 2009

7750Sevilla have signed Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive midfielder Didier Zokora on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee. The Ivory Coast international joined Tottenham from French club St Etienne in July 2006. He made 134 appearances during his time at White Hart Lane and played an important part in the League Cup-winning side of 2008. The deal includes a £26 million release clause. Sevilla’ s sporting director Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo sounded very upbeat about the move -

“Every Sevillista should be happy,” he said . “We have to thank the president and the board for the effort they made in this signing. Zokora was our main objective for this season. We managed to close the deal not without significant effort. We hope it will prove worth the pain. We think the player deserves it.

“As soon as he knew about Sevilla’s interest, he only gave signs of dedication and gratitude. This is important in these cases because it gives you leeway in the negotiation. We are all really happy today.

“He’s a player who works a lot, who runs a lot, physically he’s a wonder who covers a lot of the pitch, he’s very versatile. He is what we needed to complete the excellent midfield that we already have.”

Zokora becomes Sevilla’s first signing this season. Reports also suggest that Sevilla’s Brazilian forward Luis Fabiano is on the verge of quitting the club in favour of either Manchester United or AC Milan. But no official contact has been made between the clubs.

Marathon Running Tips and Shoes

Posted by myadmin on 5th July 2009

I love talking with people who are considering running a marathon. I think it is one of the best things that someone can do with their life and health. It is quite funny, however, to sit down with someone that is considering running a marathon to see what their plan of preparation is for their big run. Quite often people have no real plan for preparation.

People will find it very difficult to be ready to run a marathon with success if they haven’t taken weeks or even months to adequately prepare for it. You see, running a marathon is no simple undertaking. Very few (if any) people could do absolutely no preparation and and still be successful in the just over twenty-six mile race. So I love the days when I get to sit down with a prospective marathoner and help them create a preparation plan that suits their needs and time frame while helping them adequately prepare for their big race.

I will share some basic tips for marathon preparation here. Keep in mind that these are only basic tips and that there is much more to be learned and understood before you sign up for the next race. First, I’d suggest that everyone who desires to run a marathon makes a time to talk with a trainer or a fitness coach that can help them along their way. I’ll suggest that there is no better way to prepare for a marathon than to meet with someone that knows what they are talking about and get their suggestions. Another great tip for potential marathon runners is to get a few books and magazines and the topic and just begin to read all you can about it. See what you can learn from pieces of writing that have been written by experts on the subject. You see, in essence, both of my first tips are designed to get you to get help in the process of marathon preparation. You will be far more likely to succeed this way than if you go into it alone.

You may be surprised to learn that there are a large amount of training programs designed to help almost anyone get in shape to run a marathon. I’d suggest that you get your hands on a few of these schedules and then meet with your fitness advisor to see what is the best plan for you. One of the biggest ways that many people fail is not having a specific training program to stick to.

Regardless of when you plan to run a marathon, it is a great idea to get out their and begin running now. Even if you can only jog around your block, the point is to start running now. Slowly get your body used to running and you’ll be much further ahead when it comes for the hard training weeks that precede a marathon. So get educated and then get moving. You’ll be well on your way to enjoying the pleasure of a successful marathon run.

Judo Uniforms

Posted by myadmin on 2nd July 2009

Since it was created in 1882 by Kano Jigoro of Japan, Judo has become one of the most popular martial arts in the world. It is quite a rigorous and physically demanding sport, appearing in several major international sports competitions. As a result, when partaking in judo training, it is important that a high quality judo uniform, or gi in Japanese, be worn to avoid tearing and damage.

Judo uniforms are generally constructed out of 100% cotton, bleached white. Cotton is the best choice for breathability. Care should be taken when laundering, as most judo uniforms are not pre-shrunken and will shrink up to a full size from excess heat. Therefore, washing in cool water and air drying is highly recommended to avoid shrinkage.

There are three pieces to the judo uniform: the jacket, the belt, and the pants. The jacket is quilted with a thick pliable collar and wide sleeves. Two short splits are on either side of the hip, which are reinforced with extra cloth. The jacket is secured with a belt, coloured according to level, wrapped tightly around the body and knotted. The pants feature an elasticized drawstring waist with wide legs to allow for movement. In areas where there may be a lot of friction or stress from pulling, reinforcement at the seams and additional padding is vital to prevent damage. These include the shoulders, collar, knees, and crotch of the pants.

The cloth for gi’s comes in a variety of weights and textures. For training purposes, judo uniforms are made out of single weave cloth. The appropriate weight for a Judoka (Judo practitioner) is measured in ounces or grams, and depends on their ability and age. Usually, beginners at a younger age opt for lighter weights while older advanced students and instructors choose heavier ones. Weights can vary from 7 ounces or 198.44 grams to 40.57 ounces or 1150 grams.

For competitions, double weave cloth is ideal for judo uniforms, making them thicker and heavier. Judo uniforms for competition use tend to be more durable, and as a result, much more expensive than single weave. While training judo uniforms come in white, competition level uniforms also come in blue.

Higher quality judo uniforms should not weigh down the practitioner and restrict their movement. They should fit loosely and comfortably on the body.
