Cristian Chivu: Denied speculation linking him with a shock move to AC Milan

Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu has quashed rumours he is poised to make a cross-city switch to rivals AC Milan.

The 31-year-old is out-of-contract this summer but has insisted there is no substance to the speculation.

“There has been a lot of speculation but that is all it is – speculation,” Chivu told the club’s official television station.

“It’s incorrect and not true. Has anyone spoken with the club or me about this supposed deal?

“It won’t happen, this is a story someone has invented, and it does not interest me. “

Chivu admitted that his contract expires this summer but that his agent and Inter have decided to open discussions next month.

“My agent and Inter decided they will meet in February,” he added.
